Conformity and Chaos

Inspired by the chaos of color bicycle racers’ jerseys and the kaleidoscopic changes in shape and form as the mass of riders plunge down the road, this is one of the earliest representations in this current collection. In contradiction to the “chaos” of color, there is also a highly stylized repetitive aspect to what the riders wear which lends a rhythm to the piece. The viewer will also detect synchronicity and close proximity as riders ride to mutual advantage. These are all attributes cyclists experience as they ride “inside” the field.

Original art measures 30″ x 40″ and is composed of giftwrap, urethane and acrylic on canvas.

Signed and numbered giclée prints on archival papers with archival ink are available in three image sizes. 12″x16″ and 18″x24″ are in stock. 30″x40″ prints are available, but require an extra 5 days for processing. Please note that all giclées are printed with a 1 inch white border so the actual paper size is 2 inches larger in each dimension. For example, a 12″x16″ giclée is printed on a 14″x18″ paper.
